Our most recent “Share Your Story” winner is from Lawrence, MA, Bill Tompkins, who installed WarmlyYours Snow Melting Heating Mats in his client’s driveway and walkway. 

Bill Tompkins of the Tompkins Corporation, established in 1993, was recently approached by a homeowner in Methuen, Massachusetts, about a driveway heating project. The client was primarily interested in finding a way to keep her driveway and walkway safe - especially during the winter months - which can bring extreme weather across New England.

Her busy work schedule didn't allow her much time to shovel in the winter, leaving her driveway hazardous to her elderly mother. Because she frequently isn't home, she also couldn't monitor the driveway for icy conditions during the winter.

The client contacted Tompkins this past spring to resolve the driveway and walkway issues after spending more than $1,500 on plowing last winter. She had also faced complications over the course of the winter when it came to keeping her driveway and walkway clean - in some instances, snow-plowers did not show up to take care of the snow, despite blizzard conditions.

Tompkins installed WarmlyYours Snow Melting Heating Mats that would keep these issues from developing in the future. Over the course of three days, Tompkins was able to completely incorporate the system under the driveway and the walkway as well.

The client now has Snow Melting Heating Mats that will prevent her from slipping on ice, as well as provide additional safety for her elderly mother and anyone else who may walk on it during the winter.

Tompkins' customer will also no longer have to worry about spending an ample amount of money on chemicals to treat her driveway or snow-plowers in the winter, who do not compare when it comes to reliability.

Tompkins found the snow melting mats to be extremely efficient at melting the ice above when tested. For this reason, the system should serve as an effective way to keep the driveway and walkway ice and snow-free in winters to come.
